Miami - If being classified as “Best Destination in the World” weren’t enough, the Business Insider reports that Marrakech has ranked atop a new list: “25 destinations that foodies must definitely visit.”
The Business Insider praises the city, “Marrakech combines the flavors of France, Africa and the Middle East and provides the opportunity for foodies to taste delicious dishes like Kafta.”
Coupled with its millennial history and its architectural and cultural heritage, the Moroccan city of Marrakech ranks in the top 25 most visited landmarks in Africa, according to TripAdvisor.
The Jamaa Lfna square in Marrakech is famous for its “human menagerie, alive with merchants, traders, tourists, acrobats, snake charmers, game players, musicians, food stallers, drummers. There’s nothing like it on earth,” said the travel website.
Marrakech is also considered one of the top 10 (8th place) most affordable vacation spots based on the Tripindex, an annual study done by TripAdvisor. The cost of food, accommodations, transportation, and leisure activities is considerably lower than in other popular cities.
The celebrated city keeps on winning reviews and awards as it topped the list at No. 1 of 2015 Traveler’s Choice Awards.
TripAdvisor raves about Marrakech calling it “a magical place” filled with gardens, palaces, mosques, intimate courtyards, alleyways, markets and the historic Medina. The city has become an inspiration for artists and designers such as Yves Saint Laurent who loves the beauty and serenity of the Jardin Majorelle.
